My Opinion:
Most of the destination for Cathay Pacific have to be trabsfer at Hong Kong, therefore if you are travel to Europe region, Malaysia Airlines might be a better choice, however if you travel to America region, Cathay Pacific is one of the choice as most of the flight to US from KL will be transfer at Hong Kong or Japan. Not to forget that Cathay Pacific is member of One World membership, therefore you are eligible to earn Enrich Points if you are travel with Cathay Pacific.
